Sago palm leaf. Light micrograph of a transverse section through a sago palm (Cycas revoluta) leaf. It has a thick epidermis (outer red layer) typical of drought resistant plants. In the mid rib is the vascular bundle containing phloem (blue) and xylem (red). Magnification x20 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
