Aerial view of the Iguazu falls, Argentina. Iguazu Falls, named after the Guarani word for 'great water', are four times the width of Niagara Falls and are divided by islands into 274 separate waterfalls. The most impressive of these is the Devil's Throat, which is a tightly curved cataract that reaches 82 metres high, 150 metres wide and 700 metres long. The Iguazu Falls extend across the Argentinian-Brazilian border, with two thirds being within Argentine territory.
