American diesel locomotive. This is diesel locomotive number 1186 on the Hobo Railroad, a heritage railroad located in New Hampshire, USA. This locomotive, an ALCO S3 type, was originally built for the Boston and Maine Railroad at some point between 1950 and 1953. It then passed through a succession of other railroad owners until it was established on the Hobo Railroad (itself established in the 1980s). This railroad is used mainly to transport tourists among the hills of New England to view the famous autumn foliage.
