Founded in 1746 Elector Clemens August; the Holy Stairs ; at the planning of the famous architect Balthasar Neumann participated. It is located in a prestigious building directly in front of the church; the house of Pontius Pilate to comply. Inserted brass cross on the second; eleventh and final mark of 28 steps; the places where the legend should be embedded in the stairs after fragments of the Cross of Christ. In a chapel at the end of the staircase stands an altar with a crucifix. The paintings in the vault broach the Triumph of the Cross.The time of the Jesuits in the years from 1855 1872; were the shrines of the " seven prostrations "on pilgrimage from Bonn- Poppelsdorf and the 14 Stations of the Cross erected (1861-1865). The Stations of the Cross were erected on the road around the church facility; but received only partial. Other shrines were on the road from Bonn- Endenich built the church.
