Carcinoma cell,. Comparison between a scanning election micrograph (SEM left) and transmission electron micrograph (TEM right). A carcinoma is any malignant cancer that arises from epithelial cells. These cells have the typical morphology of cancer cells. The nucleus(red TEM) is enlarged and multilobed, the cell walls are covered in small projections (SEM) and the cytoplasm contains a large number of organelles (TEM).
