Gliosarcoma, light micrograph. Gliosarcoma is an爀xceedingly rare爌rimary brain tumour燾onsisting of both malignant glial as well as sarcomatous components. It represents about?% of adult glioblastomas. It is燼nalogous to carcinosarcoma燼rising in other locations and is thought represent爉esenchymal metaplasia爄n a high-grade glioma. The epidemiology, presentation, and natural history are very similar to that of glioblastoma; however, it shows slight predilection for the temporal lobes. This image show prominent vascular proliferation in a background of high-grade sarcoma component.
