Black lavas rich in obsidian on the sides of Teide. Teide is a huge volcano strato on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. It measures 3718 m above the ocean, but almost 7000 m from its base on the ocean floor, making it the 3rd known volcanic structure. It comes from the activity of a hot spot that formed the Canary archipelago during the displacement of the African plate.
