Drawings of Venus, made in 1726 by the Italian astronomer Francesco Bianchini (1662-1729). The observations were taken in February and March. Bianchini has shown the change in features on Venus (numbered). At the time, it was not known what the surface of Venus looked like. Now, it is known that Venus is covered in clouds and surface features are not visible.
