Natural colour mosaic image of Saturn's north pole and rings made from thirty six images obtained by NASA's Cassini spacecraft as it passed over the north pole of the planet. Different coloured bands of weather are shown, for example the bright, narrow wave of clouds around 42 degrees north latitude is thought to be the turbulence caused by a giant storm. The six-sided weather pattern known as the hexagon is visible around Saturn's north pole. The rings shown include Saturn's main rings, known as the C, B and A rings. The rings cast a shadow on Saturn at the limb of the planet in the lower right quadrant.
