Scene of yesterday's escape from Long Bay gaol. They then climber a 21ft wall and dropped to the ground within 20 feet of an armed warder. The escaped men are Darcy Ezekiel Dugan, 28, tiler of McArthur Street, Ultimo, and William Cecil Mears, 27 laborer, of Union Street, Erskineville. Every available policeman in the metropolitan area was rushed to the Maroubra-Long Bay area to help in the searching of the scrub. Police are checking all cars and trucks leaving the area.
