Holborn Youth Centre -- At 10 p.m., the Centre closes, and laughing and chatting, members leave to walk home. Most of the 146 members of the Holborn Youth Centre live within five minutes' walk from the Centre in St. Giles' High Street. The Centre is housed in an unattractive old building, in a cul-de-sac. But it is centrally situated in the Borough, and at a time of great housing shortage (Horlborn suffered severely during the raids on London) the centre's premises are quite satisfactory. The Centre is open daily from 10 noon to 2 p.m.; and again from 6 to 10 p.m. At the midday opening, luncheons are served at 1/-s for a three course meal. May 21, 1947. (Photo by Pictorial Press).
