"Children's a faces fascinate me - they aren't artificial like grown-ups," says ash-blonde artist Dawn Anderson. She specialises in portraits of children's heads. If genius (as they say) is the art of taking pains, Dawn must come pretty close to it. She has an indestructible patience in seeking the effect she wants. ?Sometimes,? she says, ?I trail my little model all day from dinkie to high chair and back again till I can capture just the expression I want. ?I sometimes feel I can handle children even better than their mothers. Whenever they see me drawing, they always want to draw too. It helps a lot. July 19, 1948.
