Blue Lamp Family When P.C. 50, William Milner, is getting ready to go on duty, he has to be careful to put the right jacket on. Otherwise he might face his sergeant as P.C. 123 - or, worse still, as Policewoman 4. For three police jackets hang in P.C. Milner's hall in Ash-street, Blackpool - his son's and his daughter's as well as his own. Often the trio go on duty together - as in the picture. Son Alan, 25, joined the force when he left the RAF. His sister Eunice, 23, was a secretary in an estate agent's office. But the continual talk by her father and brother about the force decided her to make a change. So she became P.W. 4. She said; "More than once one of the other two has tried to put on my tunic before finding out his mistake. June 19, 1951.
