Britain's No. 1. Atom Chief. - Sir Edwin Plowden Sir Edwin Plowden who until only Eleven Days ago, was the Government's chief Economic Adviser, is to be the first Chairman of the new Atomic Energy Corporation which is to take over day-T-day control of Atomic Energy as soon as Parliament has passed the Bell setting it up. At forty-six, Sir Edwin will get ?8,500 a year, ?2,000 more than when he was planning chief. The Corporation will be responsible for the whole field of Atomic Development including weapons.
