The annual fete at Horsley, Gloucestershire, took place yesterday. There was blowing for the pig, the coalman's daughter was the maid of honour for the beauty queen and the oldest inhabitant, Mr. George Stevens, 81, took part in the bowls competition. There were many other events but Kathleen Allway, 3, is interested in only one - eating her ice-cream. Tackling the problem form a different end is three-year-old Kathleen Allway, of Gloucester-shire. Most of us would go for the ice-cream, but Kathie likes the cone. August 30, 1954.
