Seven years ago,a RAAF Catalina's "mercy flight" to Lord Howe Island, saved the life of a premature baby boy. His twin brother had died after only five hours. Little hope was held out for his survival. But, wrapped in cotton-wool, he was fed oxygen by a RAAF nursing sister on the 400-mile trip and survived after six weeks in Crown St. Hospital. Yesterday the same boy, Kim Morris (above), now 7, wide-eyed with awe and excitement, stepped ashore at Rose Bay flying-boat base for his first view of Sydney since he was less than 24 hours old. He was met by his father, Richard Morris, photographer, who is in Sydney on business. August 31, 1954.
