General Eisenhower Receives Freedom Of The City Of London -- General Eisenhower seated with the Lord Mayor, Sir Frank Alexander, at the Civic Table, on which lies the City Sword, as the acting City Chamberlain makes his address, asking the Supreme Allied Commander to accept a Sword of Honour of the hands of the Lord Mayor. General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower drove through cheering crowds to the Guildhall, where he received the Freedom of the City of London. The Supreme Allied Commander was afterwards guest of honour at a luncheon in the Mansion House, which was attended by the Prime Minister, the City Corporation, members of the War Cabinet, and many other distinguished persons.
