Millions of visitors to London, stand on London Bridge but they go there to look at Tower Bridge. Built by the City of London Corporation and opened by King Edward VII (then Prince of Wales) in 1894, it is the first Bridge over the Thames and with its huge cascules is probably the largest lifting road Bridge the world, and the one thing a visitor to London must not miss, is to see Tower Bridge go up.
