This was how 115 aborigine extras for Ealing's film Bitter Springs spent their first night at Quorn, South Australia. Because their camp at Warren's George, 14 miles away, was not ready for them they had' to sleep on the cold, bitumen floor of Quorn Oval refreshment room. They were given only one blanket each. Ernabella Mission Supervisor Dr. Charles Duguid, said the way the natives were transported to Quorn was "blundering and criminal". May 22, 1949. (Photo by News & Mail Photograph).
