Tuscany; Gaiole in Chianti; Castello di Brolio: altar in the castle chapel; located in castle courtyard; domicil of the noble Florentine family Ricasoli; since 1141; Castello di Brolio (Brolio Castle) was rebuilt from 1835 onwards; by Baron Bettino Ricasoli (1809 - 1880) and architect Pietro Marchetti in Tudor style. Oldest part is the Gothic style chapel of the castle; built in 1348 and restored 1867 - 1869 by Bettino Ricasoli; who added as well an underground crypt as family vault. In 1874; he added mosaics in the altar area; realized by the Compagnia Venezia Murano (Venice Murano Company).
