Chhath is an ancient Hindu festival historically native to Nepalis and Biharis of the Indian subcontinent, more specifically, the Indian state of Bihar along with West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and the southern parts of Nepal. It is also celebrated in major urban centers like Delhi where a large diaspora or migrant population exists. Hundreds of thousands of people celebrate it in Mumbai.
