Green carpet moth (Colostygia sp.), a member of the Geometridae family. The flight period is May to September with two generations each year. This species is found throughout the UK, Europe and the palearctic ecozone. The larval food plants are mainly hedge and heath bedstraws. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in May.
