Garden tiger (Arctia caja) moth. This moth is on the wing during July and August. The caterpillars are known as ?榳oolly bears??and feed on a number of herbaceous plants including nettles. This species is common across much of the palearctic ecozone. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in August.
