Pair of tortoise shieldbugs (Eurygaster testudinaria) resting on a seed head in a meadow in late summer. This is a fairly large palearctic species that is a member of the Scutelleridae family. The nymphs feed on grasses and moult to the adult phase from July. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in September.
