Donald D Jackson (1920-1968), US psychiatrist. Jackson was a pioneer of family therapy and brief therapy (also known as solution-focused therapy). He established the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, California, USA, in 1958 to provide training in and carry out research in family and brief therapy.
