MODEL RELEASED. Balding. Man checking his hairline for signs of balding. Balding is common amongst most men. The normal scalp hairs fall out, and are replaced by much finer, lighter hairs. The thinning starts at the temples, and progresses to the crown. The condition is not serious, and the only problem is cosmetic. There is no absolute cure, but creams and tonics are often used as well as the wearing of a wig or toupee. Surgery is also an option, where hair taken from the back of the head is transplanted to the balding patches, but there is no guarantee of success.
