Male macleays spectre (Extatosoma tiaratum), sometimes called the giant prickly pear stick insect, rocks back and forth as it climbs branch. These large insects, females can reach lengths of 20 cm, are covered with thorn-like spikes used for defense and camouflage. They are indigenous to Australia and New Guinea.
