Timelapse footage of intense gravity waves propagating through a layer of stratocumulus clouds. This is occurring at a frontal boundary, where warm air has moved over colder, denser air, forming a temperature inversion. The boundary between the cold dense air and the warmer air above it displays waves analogous to those seen when wind blows over a water surface. Filmed in the USA on a summer afternoon.
