Bdelloid rotifers are small aquatic organisms that can move around on their substrate and feed by wafting food particles from the water using a corona of cilia around their heads. Bdelloid rotifers are unusual in that they are all female and reproduce parthenogenetically. Filmed under darkfield illumination, an optical microscopy illumination technique used to enhance the contrast in transparent sample.
