Newly emerged adult honeybee (Apis mellifera) is greeted by other adults in colony. New adults are identical to others except for their lighter color and inability to sting. Honeybees undergo complete metamorphosis, a process which includes four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult, the latter emerging from a honeycomb cell.
