Arizona desert hairy scorpion (Hadrurus arizonensis) responding to threat by raising venomous sting located at the end of its tail and lashing out toward tweezers pinching it in this laboratory demonstration. Scorpion species with small claws, like this one, must rely more on their stings to deter predators. This species is native to the southern deserts of North America.
