Clouded sulphur butterfly (Colias philodice) struggling in spider web in alfalfa field as black and yellow argiope spider (Argiope aurantia) attempts to wrap it in silk. Clouded sulphurs are found throughout much of the US and Canada and are known to gather in fields in late summer by the tens of thousands to mate and lay eggs and where some become prey for spiders and other predators.
