The colour of the background sky changes from dark red in the beginning of the video (evening) to dark green near the end (midnight). This atmospheric phenomenon, known as airglow, is the natural glow of the Earth's upper atmosphere, made by the molecules excited by the solar radiation and particles. This fully robotic telescope is owned and operated by the Liverpool John Moores University (JMU), UK. It can be swiftly turned to point at a target, making it ideal for studying short-lived events like supernovae and gamma ray bursts, or tracking near-Earth objects such as asteroids and comets.
