Coloured axial MRI scans of a normal healthy brain. The scans start at the base of the head and move up through it. Initially the brainstem (orange) is are prominent, with the cerebellum (light blue) appearing below it. The eyes (red) and nasal sinuses (black) appear in the middle of the clip, with the paired symmetrical hemispheres of the brain seen in the head. As the scans move further up the head, the paired fluid-filled ventricles (red) in the cerebral hemispheres are seen. In the last part of the clip, the highly-folded surfaces of the cerebral hemispheres are evident.
