Correction of long sightedness. Animation showing a convex lens being placed in front of an eye to treat long sightedness. In long sightedness the eyeball is shorter than it should be and light is focused behind the retina (red line inside eyeball), causing difficulty focussing on near objects. The convex lens causes light passing through it to converge, and therefore focus closer than normal.
