Apparatus used to distil the ester butyl ethanoate from its reaction vessel. In this set-up, a flask containing a mixture of reactants and products is heated, and the gases passed through a condenser, around which cold water flows. This cools the gases, condensing them back into a liquid, which drips down this tube, to be collected. Different components will boil off at different temperatures, so knowing the temperature allows control of the compound collected. See clip K004 1224 for the rest of the set-up.
