Drainage of irrigation fluid during TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate). In this procedure, tissue from the inner part of the prostate is excised to treat the symptoms of urethral obstruction due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlargement of the prostate) or prostate cancer. The excised tissue is continuously flushed into the bladder with irrigation fluid during the procedure. Fluid is seen passing back out of the penis via the tubing when the resectoscope is removed. The resectoscope is then re-inserted and the resection continues.
