Stratocumulus standing waves. Time-lapse footage of an unusual standing wave formation of stratocumulus clouds where a rolling cloud structure forms and dissolves in the sky. This formation was observed near the shoreline of Mobile Bay, Alabama, USA. It may be due to wave action on top of a marine inversion during stable onshore flow. Filmed on a spring afternoon.
