Timelapse footage of stars revolving above Devils Tower, Wyoming, USA. As the night progresses, a rising full moon illuminates the scene, making it seem almost like daytime. Devils Tower is a prominent igneous intrusion, formed when lava rose through sedimentary rock millions of years ago. Erosion of the softer sandstones then exposed the tower, which is made of more resistant rock. It currently stands 386 metres (1267 feet) above the surrounding plain.
