Polyurethane foam production. Timelapse footage of a polymerisation reaction producing polyurethane foam. This form of plastic is produced by reaction a polyol and a polyisocyanate. The chemicals used here are methylene bisphenylisocyanate and 1, 1, 1, 3, 3-pentafluoropropane. These combine after vigorous mixing to produce a polyurethane foam. Polyurethanes are used in foam seating, foam insulation, and surface coatings and sealants.
