Sample bismuth (Bi). Bismuth is a heavy, brittle, crystalline metal element. It has extremely low thermal and electrical conductivities and is the most diamagnetic (repels magnets) of all metals. Compounds and alloys of bismuth are used widely in cosmetics, medicines, magnets and solders.
