CERN Globe. Time-lapse footage of the Sun in the sky over the Globe of Science and Innovation, a landmark at CERN, the European particle physics laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland. During the clip, clouds move overhead and a halo of sunlight is partially seen in the atmosphere. The purpose of the Globe of Science and Innovation, a wooden structure 40 metres wide, is for outreach and education to inform visitors about research carried out at CERN. It opened in 2005.
