Eruption of Momotombo volcano. Footage of a column of ash rising from the summit crater of the Momotombo volcano in Nicaragua. This ash was produced by powerful explosive strombolian/vulcanian activity during the 2015-16 eruption, which began on 30 November 2015. This is the first eruption of this volcano since 1905. This stratovolcano, which rises to an elevation of 1297 metres, is located on the north shore of Lago de Managua, Nicaragua. Footage obtained in 2016.
