Ciliated tracheal lining. Light microscopy footage of the cilia waving on the tracheal lining (epithelium). The tracheal lining contains mucus-secreting goblet cells and epithelial cells bearing hair-like cilia. The movement of the cilia moves mucus and foreign particles upwards out of the respiratory tract, helping to keep the lungs and airways free.
