Bacteria from a stagnant pond. These bacteria include some Vibrio sp., a genus of Gram-negative curved rod-shaped bacteria. Many of these cause food-borne infections, including V. cholerae, which causes cholera. Vibrio bacteria are motile and have polar flagella with sheaths.
