Benzene molecule. Animation of the structure of a molecule of the aromatic hydrocarbon benzene (C6.H6). Atoms are colour-coded spheres: carbon (grey) and hydrogen (white). This animation shows the bonding in the planar ring as a circle, a phenomenon known as resonance that is due to delocalization of some of the electrons forming the bonds. For the double bonds in this structure, see clip K004/5870.
